Welcome to SC25

Hello Fellow HPC Enthusiasts!

I’m Lori Diachin, and I’m thrilled to serve as the General Chair for SC25. It’s my honor to introduce you to this year’s conference, taking place in November in St. Louis, Missouri. We hope you join us for an incredible journey into the world of high-performance computing (HPC), networking, storage and analysis. We’re planning a conference that brings together the best of what SC is known for: a dynamic technical program, an engaging exhibit show floor, an incredible SCinet capability, and enriching student and community engagement programs aimed to foster the next generation and ensure our conference is a welcoming environment for everyone.

Introducing Our Theme

SC25’s theme, “HPC Ignites,” celebrates the sparks of creativity and innovation that fuel our field. Building on SC24’s theme, “HPC Creates,” we’ll continue to highlight how HPC drives advancements across diverse domains. From harnessing the power of HPC and artificial intelligence to advancing energy efficiency and promoting sustainability, the passion and ingenuity of our community ignite progress in our field. 

Taking inspiration from our theme we have planned exciting new program elements. In particular, We will build on initiatives such as SC24’s Art of HPC, which showcases the intersection of computational power and creative expression. In addition, we’re introducing the SC25 Book Club.  Our first stop on this journey is Walter Isaacson’s inspiring book, The Innovators, which explores the concepts of creativity and teamwork throughout the history of computing. We invite everyone to read along and join us for a conversation on this book and theme at SC25.  Throughout the year, we will highlight a number of different authors and subjects that have inspired fellow enthusiasts such as yourselves.

Discover St. Louis

Our host city, St. Louis, is ready to welcome you with a wealth of experiences. This marks the conference series’ second trip to St. Louis, with the first being in 2021. If you missed SC21, you are in for a treat! The city boasts top-notch sports facilities, a vibrant nightlife featuring legendary blues music, and a culinary scene that will tantalize your taste buds. Moreover, just a ten-minute walk from the convention center, you’ll find the iconic Gateway Arch—a symbol of adventure and exploration which is celebrating its 60th birthday this year. St. Louis’s rich history and connection to the westward expansion of America make it a fascinating place to explore during your visit.
